Traveling has always been a huge part of my life. I can remember touring Europe with my parents when I was 7 thinking that was just what every family did. As I grew older it became more evident that the trips my parents took me on were very special. My love of traveling has taken me to some incredible places. Some of my favorite places to travel have been Japan, Costa Rica, Barbados, Belgium, and Costa Azul (a sweet little surf spot in Mexico.)
Japan was definitely one of the cleanest countries I have been fortunate enough to visit. This is also the first country I visited where strangers would go out of their way to help you if you looked lost (yep, happened a couple of times). Everything in Japan was beautiful, and we timed our visit to overlap when the cherry blossom trees were in full bloom.
Belgium was incredible. I went to visit Belgium for the first time when I was still in college (and yes still drank Coors Light then, sorry Patrick!) This country felt extremely homey and it was easy to spend a day checking out the sights. In college I became very close with a couple of exchange students from Belgian who showed me around town. During my trip they asked me if I wanted to visit a traditional Belgian brewery. I jumped at the opportunity and they took me to Timmerman’s Brewery. This was the very first time I had ever tried any sour fruited beers. I was instantly in love!
Costa Rica was easy living. You could find a hostel on the water for $11 bucks a night! This is the country for action sports enthusiasts. I went white water rafting, rappelling, zip-lining, and surfing. This place was incredible and you always had something fun to do!
