We are a small craft brewery located in Orange County, California. Founded in 2008, we produce mainly Belgian-style beers, along with non-stylistic beers that fulfill our sense of curiousity and adventure.

Our calling is to create beers with character and depth using the simplest and purest of means. We do not filter or pasteurize our beers. All of our bottled beers gain carbonation through 100% bottle conditioning, allowing carbonation to naturally occur through a secondary bottle fermentation. We strive to use unconventional ingredients, and we will proudly state what we put in our beers.

We are inspired by those in the brewing community who are pushing the limits of what 'beer' is. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for great brewers who came before us. We aspire to be an influential force in craft brewing.

Patrick Rue, Brewer / Owner

As a homebrewer, Patrick focused his attention on unusual beer styles and unconventional ingredients. His focus has been the same at The Bruery, where Belgian-style beers and Patrick's daydreams combine. A recent law school graduate (Chapman University School of Law, 2006), Patrick decided to open a brewery instead of practicing law. His baffling decision has worked out well personally and professionally, as Patrick is living his dream brewing and selling beer. Patrick is responsible for managing the day to day tasks of production, distribution, marketing, and all business related matters.

Rachel Rue, Chief Style Officer / Owner

A natural organizer and leader with an incredible sense of style, Rachel is responsible for varied tasks such as marketing, accounting, governmental compliance, managing the tasting room and the final arbiter of all style-related issues (labels, packaging, merchandise, etc.). As Patrick's spouse, Rachel has been an integral part of Patrick's homebrewing and The Bruery since its inception. As of September 2008, Rachel has joined The Bruery in a full time position.

Michael Rue, Advisor / Owner

As an experienced business leader, Mike brings a rich business perspective to The Bruery. The President of Marketplace Properties of Tustin, CA, Mike comes from a real estate development perspective. He has been an invaluable resource in the construction and funding of The Bruery, as well as advising on distribution and all business matters.

Tyler King, Head Brewer / Production Manager

Having spent his entire career in the brewing industry, Tyler is an invaluable source of brewing knowledge and has an incredible work ethic. A recent graduate of California State University - Fullerton and formerly of BJ's Restaurants and Brewery West Covina, Tyler began at The Bruery during the construction phase. During this time, Tyler advised on the purchase and modification of equipment, as well as personally building many parts of the brewery. Tyler tasks cover a wide range, from raw materials, wort production, fermentation, packaging, scheduling of brewing, lab testing, data tracking, maintanance, and supervising brewing and packaging workers.

Jonas Nemura, Distribution Manager / Brewer

A recent addition to The Bruery, Jonas has taken to bolstering the distribution of The Bruery in order to bring our beers to new markets. In order to support the brewing production growth, Jonas will also be assisting as a brewer. Jonas comes from a diverse brewing background, first as a homebrewer and member of New York CIty Homebrewers Guild, then as a brewer at the New Zealand real ale brewpub "The Twisted Hop". Jonas came to Southern California to brew at Left Coast Brewing / Oggi's. As well as being an excellent brewer, Jonas is also a very smart guy being the first Bruery employee to have graduated from an Ivy League college (Cornell University).
